A Fairy Happy Birthday!

Olivia turned 7 and she had a very specific plan for her birthday this year! It was centered around a fairy theme…and she insisted that everything be handmade (mommy’s specialty)!
We decorated the sunroom with pink and white toule and lots of flowers and greenery. She wanted “Pixie Punch”, “Dew Drops”, “Fairy Berries”, “Fairy Finger Food”…and of course, pizza-what fairy wouldn’t like pizza?
When the girls arrived we dressed them all in handmade tutus and wings and had a scavenger hunt for rainbow jewels. Each riddle led them to a spot in the yard where they would find a little fairy scene...one had a house with a moss roof, a rock walkway, potted plants and even a tiny clothes line with flower skirts on it…too cute! Each riddle was coded with a color and the girls got a jewel at each scene. The last riddle rewarded them with a flower fairy wand.
Next, we made enchanted fairy gardens! This was a huge hit! The girls painted tiny “fairy” homes and then placed them on trays with florist foam and moss on them. They decorated their gardens with stones, flowers, moss, greenery, bugs, and birds. Each one was quite creative and unique! Treat bags had a corked bottle of “fairy dust” and flower petal fairies (mom and baby) to play with in the enchanted gardens.
All in all, it was a fairy special day and Olivia was a fairy happy birthday girl!
